The Australian Government applauds the efforts of health professionals across Fiji who are at the forefront of the COVID-19 response; such as Australia Awards alumnus Dr Sam Fullman.
Dr Fullman, the National Tuberculosis Control Officer with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, volunteered to be part of the response team in Nadi, and is making sure that returning Fijians are getting the care and support they need whilst in quarantine.
Under the Australia Awards scholarships program, Dr Fullman completed a double Masters degree in International Public Health and Health Management at the University of New South Wales in 2016.
“I learnt about outbreaks including pandemics, how to respond and mitigate the response to flatten the curve, surveillance systems and how to manage information on physical and programmatic levels. Knowing all this is truly helping me right now. I am proud to be in the field, supporting the national response effort.”
Keep up the great work!
