Lily Tangisia Faavae is a proud Australia Awards alumna from Tuvalu!
In 2018, Lily completed a Master of Public Policy at the @Australian National University.
“The course strengthened my analytical skills and allowed me to embrace different insights to better approach public policy discussions. I also have a greater understanding of development issues faced by small developing countries like Tuvalu.”
Since returning to Tuvalu, Lily has used these skills in her role as the Deputy Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, where she engages with local, regional and international stakeholders daily.
Having spent two years in #Canberra, it now holds a special place in Lily’s heart.
“Autumn was my favourite season of the year. My professors and tutors were great, my classmates from all over the world were awesome and we were like one big happy family whenever we saw each other.”
Lily’s fondest Australia Awards memory is attending her graduation in Llewellyn hall in the presence of her family, who accompanied her whilst on scholarship in Australia.
“I am grateful my family was able to be with me from the start to the end of my ANU journey. Thank you, @AustraliaAward!”
