Earlier this month, Australia Awards collaborated with @ACIARAustralia and the Australia-Pacific Climate Alumni Network to host a panel discussion on careers in agriculture and climate change.
The panel featured four sector experts who shared their experiences in agriculture research, climate change, policy and entrepreneurship.
Representing Australia Awards was alumnus Ilisapeci Masivesi, who has over 15 years’ experience in climate change and environmental science. Ilisapeci currently works with @oxfampacific as the Project Manager & Capacity Building Adviser for the Pacific Climate Change Collaboration, Influencing and Learning Project. She graduated from the @TheAustralianNationalUniversity with a Master of Climate Change in 2018.
Ilisapeci was accompanied by Aquaculture Specialist Salote Waqairatu-Waqanaibete, Agricultural Specialist Fuatino Fatiaki and Non-Revenue Water specialist Fred Fuakilau.
In response to an engaged audience, the panel answered technical questions on best practices and sustainability and provided tips on how to effectively transition from study to work.
The Australian government thanks the four panel members for their inspiring leadership, their commitment to knowledge sharing and ongoing contribution to the region’s development.
